G.A.M.E. - Gamification as a method for education

Kolin, Czechia
19th - 27th October, 2024

What was the main topic of the project?

Janne Emilie Lasson - Gamification as a method for education.

Nataliia Sidenko - To introduce gamification tools and methods, and to encourage their use in youth work, specifically when addressing fundamental values and attitudes.

What were the biggest learning moments of the event for you?

Janne Emilie Lasson - Learning more about informal education. Types or gamification possibilities. How to present information and knowledge in a game way.

Nataliia Sidenko - This was actually a new topic for me. So the biggest moment of learning was the realization that we really created the game in just one day, and it can be played!

Do you have any plans to continue being active in the field? If yes, in which way?

Janne Emilie Lasson - Yes. I think this theme is very handy for the future and communication overall.

Nataliia Sidenko - Yes! Now I want to hold workshops where I can share my experience, knowledge and actually play the game we created (Forest Foragers).

Would you recommend this experience to your friends? If yes, why? If no, why not?

Janne Emilie Lasson - Yes. This experience impacted my future decisions and helped to look at education from another brighter side.

Nataliia Sidenko - Definitely! It was an interesting format for gaining new knowledge, with many people who are really knowledgeable in the field and are happy to share their experience with others.
